The colorful fluffy guy is Mukmuk, the official sidekick of the Olympic mascots. (We're not making this up; go and google "Mukmuk mascot rally".) The other one is Whizzo, a domestic short hair. Here they were discussing the artistic direction of the televised opening ceremony.

There's nothing like a party with friends to get one in the Olympic spirit. Mukmuk was also getting tips from the Salt Lake and Beijing mascots.

Mukmuk organizes the camera gear. The lens on the far right is the 70-200mm/f2.8 lens Matt rented for the trip.

Our first stop was a surprisingly sunny Seattle. We, together with what seemed like the rest of Seattle, took a quick trip out to Golden Gate State Park to enjoy the weather.

A mini-convention of Mini-Cooper owners was also at the park.

Noticing that cherry trees were in bloom around the city, we then went to the Japanese garden in Washington Park. Their trees, unfortunately, were not yet blooming.
